What is 81Ou League
- 81Ou League is the primary championships of
81SquareUniverse.com. The players will compete for the supreme title
"81Ou".
- "81-Ou" (ꉤ in Japanese kanji)
means "the King of
81-Square Universe".
- Just as in professional "Ranking
League", the players are
classified into several leagues according to their strengh. (such as
A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, etc.)
- The winner of A-Class becomes the challenger to the title
holder, 81Ou.
Rules
- The
league is run by Round-Robin System.
- Each game is played at 81Dojo, with 15 - 60, rated.
- Player
gets:
- 3 points for win / win by default
- 2 points for draw (or play a rematch)
- 1 point for loss
- 0 point for loss by default
- Player
must try to finish each game around the recommended date specified
for each game. (2 games per month in average)
- If you know that you won't be available to
play in some period of the term, you can in advance discuss with your
opponent and the administrator about changing the schedule for the
games of that period.
- If the two players seem to be unable to
arrange the
schedule despite that both
players are willing to, (due to time difference, or both
players' being too busy, etc.),
- they may discuss delaying the schedule with the
administrator.
- they may agree on "draw by default",
receiving 1 point each.
- Both of the players receive 0 point (loss by
default) for a game
that hasn't been resolved in
the recommended period with
any of above.
- If a player has made 3 losses-by-default without
any communication, he/she is disqualified from the league in that term, and cannot register in the next term.
- Additionally, for newly
registered players, 2 consecutive losses-by-default without
communication on the very first 2 games deserves a disqualification.
- If two or more players have the same points,
the player with less number of loss/draw-by-defaults will be ranked
higher.
- If two or more players have the same points,
and the same number of loss/draw-by-defaults, the rank is decided
according to the result of their direct game that has been played. However, if that happens
for 1st rank in
A-Class, playoff (challenger deciding match) will be played.
- If
the rank couldn't be decided with above principles, the player who is
higher in the match table is ranked higher.
- The title match is played as a 5-game match
(in other
words, 3-win match). The loser of the title match is qualified for
A-Class (ranked in 1st) in the next term.
- The league classification for the term is
usually determined according to the player's results in the privious
term. A new member will be enrolled in the lowest class. One's
qualification for the league remains valid for 1-term absense.
- If you run into another league member at
81Dojo by coincidence, (whom you haven't made appointment with yet),
you may agree to start the league game immediately there
without an appointment. (But when it's a lot earlier than the
recommended period, maybe you should wait until the time comes.)
