What is Relay Shogi Tournament
- Relay Shogi Tournament is a team-game
tournament. Each country forms a 4-player team to play relay-shogi
games.
- The aim of this tournament is to strengthen
friendships of shogi players within the country.
- The winner country becomes the head of 81Dojo!
Rules
- Participating country must form a 4-player team with country
members.
- However, if it is difficult to find 4 players, one foreigner
from a nearby country can be hired unless he/she plays in one of other
teams.
- Each country can only have one team.
- Each team must select a leader from the players.
- The product of all 4 players' ratings must not exceed 2~1012
at the time of registration.
- This can be understood as:
(R1/1000)(R2/1000)(R3/1000)(R4/1000) < 2.0
- (In other words, geometric mean of player rating is below
1189.)
- A provisional rated player (less than 10 rated games) is
regarded as 1200.
- If a player in the team becomes unavailable for a long time
during the tournament period, a substitute player can be selected
unless it exceeds the rating limit at the time.
- Each team shares a team account that is officially provided
by 81Dojo. The leader is to change the password of the account, and
notify it to all other team members.
- Choose "Relay Shogi" when creating a game. The time rule
will be 45min + 60sec, rated.
- Playing order must be decided before the game. It cannot be
changed after seeing the opponent team's order.
- 81Dojo client will automatically notify in game-chat window
each time either team must switch players.
- Black team switches players after 9th, 29th, 49th, 69th,
89th,,, move.
- White team switches players after 20th, 40th, 60th, 80th,
100th,,, move.
- Switching the players must be done within 60 seconds after
it is notified by 81Dojo client.
- When switching players, the next player makes an "override
login" with the team account, which makes the previous player
automatically disconnect. After the override login, the new player
should find the game from the game-list and reconnect to it.
- If the other team also accidentally disconnects while
switching players, the game will end as a draw due to 81Dojo
configuration. In this case, the team that accidentally disconnected
loses this tournament.
- The playing player (the one who is actually making the moves
at the time) must not discuss or read comments.
- However, other 3 team members who are not playing are
allowed to discuss while watching, either in game-chat or private-chat.
